We furnished one of our boats and Lake Texoma guide Mike Blakely donated his time for us to participate in the 2006 Camp Cavett Kids Fishing Derby. The Derby was a big success thanks to 55+ volunteer boaters from Texas and Oklahoma that helped take out 159 kids for the morning of fishing and boating. This was only the third time in nine years that all the kids were able to get out at one time. It was quite a site to see all those boats as they idled out after loading up the kids at Catfish Bay. The Derby is sponsored by the North OKC Bassmasters Club. Donations for everything the kids needed were made by Joe Mendoza with OKC Fishing Kids organization, Joe Copeland, C&J Bait Co., OKC Bass Pro Shops and Carl's Jr. Burgers. We were proud to have KXII TV reporter/anchor Diana Zoga ride on our boat to cover the event
