September 9, 2009 The last big holiday weekend of the year has come and gone on beautiful Lake Texoma but the fishing is nothing short of awesome! The top water action has begun. There not staying up for long but we are seeing lots of fish bust the water early. Stripers are good on Pencil Poppers early and live bait later in the day. The bellies of the silversides are getting bigger! Check out these beautiful 16# and 17# stripers landed by the Cunningham Family on September 5th guided by David Escamilla. These trophies were caught on Pencil Poppers early in the morning.
The temperatures are beginning to drop to signify that Fall is nearing. The next ten days will bring cooler temperatures with the lows in the 60’s and highs in the low to mid 80’s with winds 5-15mph. There is a good chance of rain on Saturday so be sure to bring your rain gear. The rain will cool the water and add some oxygen to the water. The pool elevation is 615.90 and the water temperature is 78-83 degrees. If you haven’t fished with us lately, you haven’t seen the improvements we’ve made. Our boats (six) and boathouses are super clean and are always available for our guests to fish for catfish, striper, perch, crappie and bass before or after your guided trip. Our guides furnish tackle, bait and friendly instruction for you. The only things that you need to bring are your cooler of drinks and food, fishing licenses and rain gear. We are leaving the dock at 6:00am to get on some top water action early. Our guestrooms have also received a facelift with new beds and linens. They are comfortable, clean and fully furnished with private entrances and baths, coffee makers, microwaves and refrigerators. The game room has a pool table, card and domino table, dart board and big screen TV with DVD and surround sound. Open Dates: September (Weekend Morning) Availability: September 13th, September 19th (limited), September 26th (limited) and September 27th. We have plenty of afternoon and weekday (Monday – Friday) availability. There is no lodging available on September 11th and September 19th. October (Weekend Morning) Availability: All weekends are very limited. Again, we have plenty of afternoon and weekday availability. There is no lodging on October 1, 2, 10, 14-17 and the 23rd. We do occasionally have cancellations, so if you want to fish on a date that is booked please don’t hesitate to call to check availability. Also, we have great relationships with the locals that provide lodging so if we don’t have availability we can certainly assist you with offsite lodging. Thank you for choosing our guide service for your fishing adventures!! We value your business and look forward to putting you on the fish again soon.
