March Fishing Report

March 31, 2009

Thank you to all of our customers that came and spent your spring break with us. We enjoyed having you and hope you had a great time fishing with us.

We started the morning with a cool 43 degrees with the expected high of 63 degrees. The expected forecast for the week is 20% chance of rain for Wednesday and Saturday when two fronts move thru. Thursday afternoon is expected to be windy with a 30% chance of rain. The highs will range for mid 70’s to mid 60’s and the lows will be ranging form mid 50’s to low 40’s. Sunday calls for clear skies with highs in the mid 60’s and low in the low 40’s.

Sun rise is at 7:15 AM and sun set is at 7:46 PM which will give us 13 hours and 21 minutes of visible light. The full moon is April 9th. The lake level is 615.19 feet as of Tuesday 31, 2009 at 10:00 AM. The water temperature is at 56 degrees and the Corp is generating on 2 units 6:00 PM to 8 PM.

We ended the month with 320 fishermen bringing 2576 striper to the cleaning table along with 163 various other fish. On March 1st Josh Kerr brought a group of 12 to fish with us and they brought 107 stripers and 12 sand bass to the cleaning table. Kevin Mann brought his dad, brother and a friend for a three day fishing trip on March 5th and they took back a total of 115 stripers, 11 catfish and 17 sand bass. On March 15th one of our Boathouse winners Scott Tomlinson and his daughter came and took home 20 stripers and 7 sand bass. Sixteen members of the First Methodist Church of Stillwater OK, lead by Alton Carter came on March 16th. They took back to Stillwater 140 stripers, 1 catfish, 5 sand bass and 1 crappie. Matt Schippers from Kansas had a 2 day Bachelor Party for his friend Doug. They had a total of 17 for this event and they took back 211 stripers 2 catfish and 1 sand bass. Cardinal Glass from Durant sent 9 of their employees fishing March 26th and brought in 80 stripers, 2 catfish and 1 sand bass. John Milner and some of his co workers from Gulfstream came on March 29th and brought in 124 stripers to the cleaning table. Our guides furnish tackle, bait and friendly instruction for you. Everything is furnished except food, drinks, licenses and rain gear. Tinker's private boathouses are always available for our guests to fish for catfish, striper, perch, crappie and bass before or after the guided trip.

Our bedrooms are comfortable, clean and fully furnished with private entrances and baths. All types of outside cooking facilities are available for your use. The game room has pool, card and domino tables, plus dart boards, washer boards, stereo and TVs with DVD, CD, VCR and surround sound.
