Tinker's Lake Texoma Striper Fishing Guide Service

Fishing Report

March 3, 2008

We started the day off with much needed rain. Some areas have gotten up to three inches over night and this morning. Our temperature is at 41 degrees with a light rain and north winds at 15 MPH gusting to 24 MPH. We are in a flash flood watch as is most of the area. This will help increase the oxygen in the lake for the stripers. Tuesday and most of Wednesday will be sunny with highs in the 50’s and lows in the 30’s with a 10 to 15 MPH south wind. There is another front moving thru Wednesday night into Thursday bringing some cooler temperatures. It is suppose to warm up by the weekend and be sunny with highs in the 60’s and lows in low 40’s and a south westerly wind of 10 to 20 MPH. It will be great fishing weather. Sunrise is at 6:53 AM and Sunset is at 6:24 PM that gives 12 hours and 23 minutes of visible light. March 9th will start daylight saving time.

As of 7:00 AM Monday March, 3, 2008 the lake level is at 614.39 feet, which is the same level as February 8, 2008. The water temperature at that time was 47 degrees and it is now 48 degrees. The Corp of Engineers is generating from 6 AM to 8 AM.

We fished last month out of Highport Marina leaving from the curtsey dock around 7:00 AM to 7:30 AM. We ended the month of February with 191 fishermen bringing in 1441 stripers, 184 sand bass and 6 catfish. On February 9th Kurt Westenhaoefer brought 7 people fishing and caught 60 stripers. Chuck McCoy brought 9 people on the same day and pulled in 61 stripers and 10 sand bass. February 17th Darell Kopepasah brought 10 people from Oklahoma which caught 63 stripers and 17 sand bass. Ted Culver from Oklahoma came the next day on the 18th with 3 people and put 30 stripers, 3 catfish, and 13 sand bass on the cleaning table. Norman Huddleston and his friend came the next day and pulled in 20 stripers. He had such a good time he came back the next week on the 25th of February with his niece and pulled in another 20 stripers. Larry Williams with Mary Kay Inc. brought 16 co workers down February 23 fishing. They caught 155 stripers and 12 sand bass. That afternoon Ramee Rendon and Greg Lindsey each brought 4 friends and caught 90 stripers. February 24 and 25 Nathan Gamewell and his 3 buddies brought in 80 stripers and 20 sand bass for a two day total. Dale Boulter and 5 of his friends came for a two day trip on February 26th and 27th but Mother Nature was not too kind and the wind blew too hard to get on the lake. The next day was great though and they brought in 60 stripers and 1 5lb catfish to the cleaning table. Kevin Mann and family came down from MO for a three day fishing trip. They took back 57 stripers and 12 sand bass. You can see all the fish pictures on www.tinker.net.
