December 4, 2007 The forecast for Tuesday is for lows in the upper 30’s and highs in the 70’s. It will be clear and sunny with 5 to 15 MPH west southwest winds. Wednesday will have another front moving through with lows in the lower 40’s and highs in mid 60’s. Friday thru Sunday lows in the upper 40’s and highs in the 70’s and 10 to 20 MPH southerly winds. There is a possibility for another front moving thru by Sunday. The stripers like these small fronts moving thru. You could not ask for better weather for striper fishing. We fished 378 fishermen in November and cleaned 3526 stripers. This does not include the stripers that were caught and released. Some of our customers only want to catch and release fish. Several catfish have been caught at the boathouse in November ranging from 12 lbs to 46 lbs. On November 2nd during the afternoon after the Hanks group went out and caught a limit of stripers. They came back to the boathouse and Clyde caught a 30 lb catfish. On November 3rd Hidalgo Industrial brought a group of 18. They all took home a limit of stripers plus 7 catfish. November 9th Toll Brothers brought a group of 32 and took home 320 stripers. The afternoon of November 19th Ferris Bavousett from Lamar Middle School brought 28 parents and students for a fishing trip and took home 232 stripers. Through out the month of November we have had several groups from Kansas to come and fish with us for two or more days and took over 700 stripers back to Kansas. November 23 Monty Holmes had fun catching his limit of stripers but nothing made him as happy as catching a 35 lb catfish at the boathouse. It’s going to the taxidermist. November 28 ten year old Brook Ziegelmeier not only caught a limit of stripers but also caught a 35 lb catfish at the boat house with a small Zebco rod and reel. Gerald Sartain brought a group of five on November 27 and over three days caught 150 stripers plus Carl Lord caught a 46 lb catfish at the boathouse. On November 7th afternoon a miracle happen, our good friend Gary Pool from Stratford, TX finally caught a fish he could brag about. He caught a 24.10 lb catfish at the boat house. Kevin Noble brought a group the first weekend of December from the Dallas Morning News and they took back a nice limit of stripers with them. Thank you everyone that has fished with us. We are leaving the dock as early as 7:00 AM for our morning trips. With the shorter daylight hours our afternoon trips will begin around noon or earlier. If you are taking advantage of our afternoon special that we have extended thru December, those trips are leaving around 1:30 PM. The bottom line, you can depart just about any time in the month of December and catch limits of Striper. The early morning bite is preferred by most hardcore fishermen. The late bite is super during the full moon and customers always catch more and larger stripers in the afternoon and early evening. The next full moon will be December, 24th. You can take off a little early from work and come to Texoma for a very productive afternoon striper trip and stay the night with me free and fish the next morning at a discounted price. As of 6:00 PM Tuesday December 4th the water pool level was 615.09 feet. The normal annual pool level is 617. The water temperature is 60 degrees. It is 20 degrees cooler than it was on October, 11th and 7 degrees cooler than on November 14th. The Corps of Engineers will be generating from 6 AM to 9 AM and 5 PM to 7 PM. Sunrise this morning was at 7:14 AM and sunset will be at 5:17 PM. There are 10 hours and 57 minutes of visible light. Yesterday’s low was 36 degrees and the high was 51 degrees. Our guides furnish tackle, bait and friendly instruction for you. Everything is furnished except food, drinks, licenses and rain gear. Tinker’s private boathouses are always available for our guests to fish for catfish, striper, perch, crappie and bass before or after the guided trip. Our bedrooms are comfortable, clean and fully furnished with private entrances and baths. All types of outside cooking facilities are available for your use.
