Tinker's Lake Texoma Striper Fishing Guide Service

Fishing Report

Lake Texoma Summer Fishing Better Than Usual.

The June 30, 2006 boathouse drawing
for a free fishing trip was won by
Mary Pool from Stratford, TX.

July 11, 2006

The falling water level and rising water temperature has not affected the striper bite. The customers are catching early limits and catch and release if they can handle the heat later in the day on our morning trips. Some of our afternoon trips have not begun until 4:00 PM or later. The late bite is super during the full moon and customers have been catching larger stripers in the afternoon and early evening. You can take off a little early from work and drive to Texoma for a very productive striper trip and stay the night with me free.

The water pool level is currently at 615.94 feet, down 1.5 feet since June 9. The normal annual pool level is 617 feet. The water temperature is 83 degrees. This is only 5 degrees warmer since June 9th. The water is clear. The generating schedule is for 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM today thru Friday. Sunrise this morning was 6:24 AM and sunset will be at 8:39 PM. There are 15 hours and 12 minutes of visible light. The moon is full tonight and will be full again on August 9th.

This morning started out at 74 degrees and there were cloudy skies with a 10 MPH south wind. The high for today is expected to be 97 degrees. The forecast for the next few days is lows in the lower 70’s and highs in the middle to upper 90’s with south winds 5 to 15 mph. There is a 30% chance of precipitation forecast for tonight and tomorrow. The next seven days should be partly cloudy with no rain in the forecast.

Fishing was as good during June as it was in May. Limits were being caught on practically every trip. We fished 621 fishermen in June and cleaned 5,454 stripers. This does not include the stripers that were caught and released. We have fished 134 people thru the 10th of this month and cleaned 1,193 stripers with many stripers caught and released again. Some of our customers only want to catch and release fish. We are very proud of the many customers that are young children. The proof is in the pictures at www.tinker.net. Pictures for June are on my website and the July pictures thru the 9th are also posted. The pictures for Monday the 10th have been sent to our webmaster and should be posted in a couple of days.

If the weather goes as forecast this week, it should be a great time to enjoy the lake and the topwater action. We are seeing many fish bust the water. Most of them are fourteen to seventeen inch stripers. If you get lucky and find the larger stripers feeding on surfacing shad they will eat up a topwater lure.

Our guides furnish tackle, bait and friendly instruction for you. Tinker’s private boathouses are always available for our guests to fish for catfish, striper, perch, crappie and bass before or after the guided trip. Everything is furnished except food, drinks, licenses and rain gear.

Our bedrooms are comfortable, clean and fully furnished with private baths. All types of outside cooking facilities are available for your use. The game room has pool, card and domino tables, plus dart boards, washer boards, stereo and TVs with DVD, CD, VCR and surround sound.

Open Dates

There are one or more boats available nearly every day in July and August. July 15, 22 and 23 are full for morning trips. Every day has at least one boat available for an afternoon trip.

We hope to see you soon, Brenda, Tinker, Pam, Alan & all the guides.
