next three days is lows around 60 degrees and the highs in the upper 80s
with a slight north wind. The wind will be 10 to 15 mph from the
south starting Saturday. The highs will be in the 80’s and the lows
in the 60’s. There is no rain in the forecast through Sunday.
August was an excellent month for catching double digit stripers.
Our customers caught many sixteen+ pound stripers last month. The
outlook for September is great. Sunny Kemp from Pottsboro boated
a twenty-one pound silverside Wednesday, September 1. The stripers
were off a little during the Labor Day weekend adjusting to the north wind
and cooler temperatures. There was also a lot of boat traffic.
Limits were hard to come by. On Sunday, September 5 George Bryant
from Grandview and Kevin Purdon from Bedford caught thirty-one and thirty-two
inch stripers. Troy Nielson from Herington, KS landed a twenty-one
pound striper the same day.
