Striper Guide Service Fishing Report |
| Dateline: Lake
Texoma Saturday, May 19, 2001.
Lake level: 617.71. Water Temperature: 67 degrees. Water clarity: Stained. Generating 10AM till midnight. Floodgates: Closed. Weather: low 64 / high 84, partly cloudy/windy. Fishing time: Saturday, 2:00 p.m. till 7:30 p.m. Fishing has been sporadic
in the mornings for the last few days. Our afternoon trips produced
7 fish weighing between 15 and 22 pounds. The stripers are still
scattered all over the lake in small schools. Most of the schools
are located in the river channels and on the edges of the channels in 35
to 45 feet of water from Washita Point to the dam. Bruce Hysmith, Texas Fisheries Biologist, reported TPWD has been stocking Lake Texoma with threadfin shad on a regular basis. Five thousand have been stocked so far. Their goal is to stock 30,000 threadfin shad before they stop. Tinker’s Striper Guide Service, http://www.tinker.net
