| Dateline: Lake
Texoma Friday, April 6, 2001
Lake level: 615.93 Water Temperature: 53 degrees Water clarity: Stained Generating: 2 generators / 24 hours / 10,718 cfs Floodgates: Closed Weather: high 77 / low 55, overcast/windy Fishing time: Friday, 7:30 a.m. till 12:30 p.m. We got out about thirty minutes late today. Lucky for us the stripers were going to feed all morning. We started fishing west of TI Point. Drifting shiners 36 feet down in 40 to 60 feet of water was producing several stripers in the 16” to 18” variety. As we moved to the west around the islands into shallower water we began to catch larger silversides. We continued on west past the 377 highway bridge. Multitudes of stripers are holding where the river enters into the lake, Every fish we kept from this area was full of milt and eggs. There was a large pile of fish when all eight boats came in with limits and the largest striper being 17 pounds. From now through the spawn striper fishing will be at it’s best on Lake Texoma. Come enjoy the fun and excitement of reeling in freshwaters hardest fighting fish. Saturday fishing was great. We had 6 boats out and everyone caught fish to 7 pounds. The fishing west of 377 bridge was slow until after 11:00 am. Early fish were caught between Washita Point and The Cross in real shallow water. Most of these were 20"+ fish.
