Stripers came slow today. Fishing shallow water with sassy shad and horsehead jigs produced 14 silversides to 5.5 pounds. The most excitement of the day came when a 7 feet, 1 inch, 139.5 pound Alligator Gar was landed after a thirty minute battle.

The gar was caught with a Roadrunner jig and 20 pound Ande line on a 6500 Garcia reel and 7’ Shakespeare Ugly Stik.

“Biggest thing I’ve seen come out of Lake Texoma in 23 years.”
