Striper Guide Service Fishing Report |
| Dateline: Lake
Texoma Saturday, March 17, 2001
Lake level: 621.46 Water Temperature: 50 degrees Water clarity: Stained/Muddy Generating: 2 generators 24 hours Floodgate discharge: 35,000 CFS Weather: high 38 / low 54, light east wind Fishing time: Saturday, 7:30 a.m. till 1:30 p.m. Texoma is six and a half feet over normal elevation for this time of year. The lake is stained to muddy on the upper river ends. The Corps is dropping the lake six inches a day. Catching limits of stripers finally came back after twenty days of very slow fishing. Three boats came in today with the allowed 120 stripers to 8.5 pounds. They were caught in 10 to 25 feet of water drifting shiners 3 feet off the bottom. Maybe this is the start of
our great pre-spawn fishing I have been predicting ever since the freeze
back in January. Have fun, stay safe and enjoy the lake.
