Lake level: 623.77 Water Temperature: 46 degrees Water clarity: Stained/Muddy Generating: 2 generators 24 hours Floodgate discharge: 5846 CFS Weather: high 55 / low 28, sunny, light north wind Fishing time: 10 a.m. till 3 p.m. Catching 20” – 24” stripers on shiners in 45’ of water was exciting for the three of us. We were throwing back 20+ inch stripers by 11 a.m. All of the big female fish we released survived because we were only pulling them up from a depth of 18 to 24 feet. Stripers don’t get stressed as much in cold water as they do during the hot summer months when the water is 78 to 82 degrees. The weather was perfect by noon for some comfortable and fun fishing. The smaller stripers were harder to come by. We came in with a total of only 21 stripers. Pre-spawn striper fishing is going to be some of the best in years. Be safe and have a great fishing trip.
